It seems DAP Socialist Youth chairman Teo Kok Seong is confused over PKR’s candidate for the Kajang by-election by claiming that MCA was using a “recycled” candidate in Vice President Datin Paduka Chew Mei Fun.
First and foremost I would like to reiterate that MCA fielded Mei Fun because of her capabilities and her strong principles, unlike Pakatan whereby their own candidate, Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim, had announced himself to contest in the controversial Kajang by-election with the sole purpose of putting himself in power, at the expense of the people’s money.
I might also add that this by-election was engineered by Anwar’s own party in the first place, violating the principles of democracy and abusing the people’s trust and taking their support for granted. In fact, they did not even bother to inform their own partners DAP and PAS. Are these the trademarks of a principled leader? I do not think so!
In case Teo has forgotten, I also want to point out that Anwar has yet to keep his promise to retire from politics if Pakatan loses the 13th General Elections, yet I still see him contesting in Kajang a year later. What kind of leader does not bother to keep his own promises made in public while shamelessly promoting himself in order to gain power?
While Teo claims that MCA has run out of candidate, I want to point out that Anwar himself is not a new face. In fact, Anwar is a parachute candidate and not a native of Selangor, much like DAP’s own Secretary-General Lim Guan Eng, who moved all the way to Penang to become its Chief Minister, or even like DAP veteran Lim Kit Siang who abandoned his constituency to move to Gelang Patah in 2013. Thus, Teo should watch his words and take a good look at his own party as jumping constituencies and abandoning voters seems to be a Pakatan tradition.
